I think we need some forum ranks based on messages so peeps wont be stuck with New Member in the forums.

Good suggestion, I've been thinking about that but I'm not sure what ranks we should make

How About going in order
you start with 1 and move your way to 2 and 3 when certain requirments are reached

NM = New Member
M = Member
V = Veteran Member
h = Hours
n = Number

1: New Member
-Given to People with fewer then (NM h) amount of hours in server/website
-fewer then (NM n) amount of forum posts

2: Member
-given to People with (M h > NM h) amount of hours in server/website
-more then (M n > NM n) forum posts

3: Veteran Member
-Given to people with (V h > M h) amount of hours in server/website
-more then (V n > M n) Forum posts

4: V.I.P.
-Donate 5$ To Server

5: Supporter
-Donate 10$ To Server

6: Super Supporter
-Donate 15$ To Server

7: Superhero

Unfortunately the User Title Ladder doesn't work that way. Your forum title can be determined by the amount of messages (posts/statuses), Trophy Points, or the amount of likes that you have.

Currently the ladder looks like this:

New Member = 0 posts/messages
Member = 5 posts/messages
Active Member = 25 posts/messages
Well-Known Member = 45 posts/messages

We could perhaps change the entire title ladder into a level system if that seems like a good idea.

If I delved into the XenForo API/Backend I could possibly make ranks propagate between server and forums.
i.e., obtaining rank 'helper' in-game would set your forum rank to 'helper'

I'd like to note that this would probably take a lot of effort on my behalf, so I can't give any estimate of how long this would take, or even if it's possible without extensive modifications.

white, couldn't you have people sync there terraria/steam account to there website account, then just have the website run a sync for the account rank with the servers on file rank of the terraria account? It would be as easy as, on the server pulling the steam id, then if someone attaches said steam id to the website, the server and website sync info to update ranks both on the website, and on the server. and for people who don't have steam accounts, you can pull computer ip

There will be alot of coding/editing to do all that syncing because the site doesn't natively have a way to interact with steam and connect to other databases in the way you described.

Not to mention that the server has no concept of a Steam ID because terraria is a pile of garbage.

Also IPs are a really bad way of keeping track of people :(
